Courtney + Mason got ready at Klondike Cabins, tucked into the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina's Yadkin Valley. Courtney had a pretty specific vision for the day: cozy, colorful, and entirely unlike the version of Elkin, NC you might expect. They originally found me through Greta + Josh's wedding, and I was so excited when they reached out.
And then there was Coley Hall. Courtney actually had her prom here, so naturally, she wanted this party to feel like absolutely nothing like it did when she was in high school. Mission accomplished. With Megan of Hosea House Collective at the helm (seriously, one of the best planners I've ever had the pleasure of working with), the space was transformed into something completely its own. Red stars above the dance floor, a blue drapey backdrop, and color everywhere. Funky, unexpected. SO GOOD.
The personality was in the details, too. Dinner was a Mediterranean Deli spread, there was a Ben & Jerry's ice cream bar, popcorn, and Cody's Cartoons was there making fun caricatures for guests (I got one too, best thing I’ve ever gotten from a wedding). A little bit silly, a little bit nostalgic, and entirely Courtney + Mason.
But beyond all the incredible details, Courtney and Mason are just two of the sweetest, most genuine people. Their friends and family were just as lovely. I loved getting to document it all through a mix of digital and film photography. They hired me for 8 hours of hybrid coverage, and I think the gallery speaks for itself. Scroll through for a little taste of the magic.
